Emulation Technology Introduces High Speed MICTOR™ BreakOut Adapters

Two New MICTOR™ BreakOut adapters provide "hands free" probing







SANTA CLARA, Calif, September 16, 2002-Emulation Technology (ET), the world leader in adapters, clips and test accessories for digital design and test introduces two new MICTOR (matched impedance) probing adapters for general purpose debugging. Both adapters mate with AMP P/N's 2-767004-2, 767054-1, or 767044-1 38 position MICTOR connectors. The MIC-38-BREAKOUT adapts the connector signal to MICTOR signals via standard .1" stake headers for use with a logic analyzer, oscilloscope, or other test equipment, while the MIC-38-SMTPADS routes signals to accessible SMT pads used for customization. These new adapters provide users with a high-speed, reliable, low cost solution for testing surface mount and BGA (Ball Grid Array) packages which can be difficult and costly to probe directly. Customers using this high density MICTOR adapter in new design applications can have BGA signals selectively broken out for oscilloscopes and signal analyzers. In addition, these adapters can bridge the gap between older PCB designs using stake headers and newer PCB designs using MICTOR connectors.
